Chengdu | Day 3

1 minute read

We started the day with breakfast at a small local restaurant, where I had baozi - steamed, meat-filled buns. The spicy stewed beef bun was a standout, packed with flavor and just the right amount of chili.

After breakfast, we took a stroll to a nearby market to do some fruit shopping. We picked up local mandarins and pomegranates. The pomegranate was especially good - big, bright red, and incredibly juicy. Probably the best I’ve ever had.

Next, we hopped on the metro and headed to Tianfu Square, where we visited the Chengdu Museum. The museum was much larger than I expected, with so much to see that two hours passed by in no time. The exhibits ranged from ancient artifacts to contemporary displays, making it a fascinating stop for any history or culture enthusiast.

After leaving the museum, we grabbed a baked beef pancake from a street vendor nearby. Watching them make it fresh was part of the experience, though it was a bit on the oily side for my taste.

With the afternoon winding down, we headed back to the hotel, grabbed a light dinner, and called it a night.
